Professional Development Resources
To complement the neuroscience-informed strategies explored in my reflection, I plan to use Neuroscience in the Classroom as a resource for planning my staff’s professional development. This series offers valuable insights into how brain research connects to effective educational practices, reinforcing the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and developmentally informed instruction. My intention is to use it as a foundation for helping my team deepen their understanding of how children learn and apply that knowledge in meaningful, practical ways in the classroom.
Neuroscience & the Classroom: Making Connections is a K–12 video course for teachers and school counselors featuring 42 modules, an online text, and a course guide. It explores how insights from neuroscience can inform and improve classroom teaching by helping educators understand how the brain learns. Through real-world examples and expert dialogue, the course offers tools to address everyday challenges and support sustained professional development.
