Reflections: A Journey in Practice, Purpose, and Possibility

Welcome to the reflective heart of my Master’s in High Incidence Disabilities journey. This section gathers the writings, insights, and evolving perspectives I’ve developed throughout my coursework at the University of Kansas. Each reflection represents not just an academic exercise but a deeply personal and professional exploration—one grounded in my role as the Founding Director of Shalem Preschool and my lifelong commitment to inclusive, values-driven education.
As an early childhood educator, rabbi, and parent, I’ve approached this program with a desire to grow—both in knowledge and in purpose. These reflections document that growth. They capture how I’ve connected theory to practice, examined challenges through a lens of empathy and equity, and envisioned new ways to support the teachers, children, and families in my community.
I invite you to read with curiosity and care and consider how these insights might inform your work in building inclusive, compassionate spaces where every learner is seen, valued, and supported.

My Journey

This collection of reflections represents a meaningful journey through my Master’s program in High Incidence Disabilities—a journey of learning, unlearning, and deepening my practice. As I gathered artifacts from each course, I found myself not only documenting academic progress but also pausing to reflect on how each experience has shaped my thinking as an educator and leader. These reflections helped me connect theory to the daily realities of early childhood education and challenged me to reimagine what inclusive, responsive teaching can look like in a preschool setting. Looking ahead, I carry this learning forward with a renewed vision: to foster a community rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a commitment to growth for every child, teacher, and family we serve.
